I decided to add this little disclaimer here just to keep people in the know, ’cause that’s how I’d like to be done unto, myself.
I’m not promising controversy, offense, or injury, but I’m sure as hell not going to apologize for any incidental contact.
My views are a conglomeration of many atheists, secular humanists, political analysts, and petulant rabble-rousers.
Perhaps I’m manure-agitator too.
In these posts I’m going to make fun of all parts of society, because despite our unprecedented planetary advancements, we’re a pretty…coulorful species.
So I’ll leave you with two thoughts:
1) The founding fathers of the United States of America were not Christians, as much propaganda will have you believe. They were deists, believing in a supernatural creator to an extent, but not one that meddled in people’s lives. This one kicked back, put his feet up, and cracked a beer about 15 Billion years ago, and has just been flipping through the channels ever since.
So, while preserving or establishing many of a person’s inalienable rights, the First Amendment to the United States’ Constitution was: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” This also means freedom from religion, if one so desires. And god damnit, I want to be free.
2) Islamism, not the practice of Islam, but the political pursuit by Islamist ideologues to establish Islamic Law as the sole governing body of the planet, is a scourge on humanity, as it essentially throws us back into the stone age, and has us “submit”, just as the very definition of Islam dictates.
Due to the ever increasing Islamisation of Europe, proponents of this draconian establishment are crying foul when (entirely deserving and apt) criticism of these beliefs flies in their direction. And what do they do? They run to the United Nations’ Human Rights Council and declare that criticism of their scripture is an affront to their basic human rights.
Well I’m sorry, but it’s not. I don’t care what your beliefs are, as long as they don’t infringe on my own personal rights to live free from oppression, violence, and outright racism.
While you have many inalienable rights as a human being, the right not to be offended most certainly is not one of them.
